The European Drosophila Population Genomics Consortium (DrosEU)

The European Drosophila Population Genomics Consortium (DrosEU) is a collaborative consortium of scientists and laboratories interested in evolutionary genetics and genomics of the model organism Drosophila (the fruit fly). DrosEU members cooperate closely in collecting, generating and analysing genomic and environmental data for numerous Drosophila populations across Europe (and beyond), including D. melanogaster and D. suzukii (a recent invasive pest species). LCATM has paired with the consortium to provide it with successful communication and outreach activities, as well as accelerating, economizing and widening the scope of the sampling activities of the consortium through crowd sampling through the Spanish citizen science project ‘Melanogaster: Catch the Fly!’ (#MelanogasterCTF) and its international counterpart ‘aDaptNAtion’.
